Wednesday (9/24/03)
I am a slow learner. God has to repeat
things to me and occasionally thump me on the head for me to get it.
Claire Hamilton referred to "divine thumpings" recently in a Sunday School
lesson, and I was just glad to know that God uses the same method with
someone else.
I’ve read the Purpose Driven Life through one
time. Easy reading, short chapters, full of meat, straight to the point,
read one a day and ponder …. It is like 40 consecutive "divine thumpings".
I can’t wait to read it a second time, meet with a
small group to watch the video, and hear what God has to say to us through
our pastor. I fully expect God to use this adventure to reinforce my
desire to follow and serve Jesus "outside my box".

Wednesday ..(9/12/03)
As we go through the 40
Days of Purpose together, as a church family, I pray that God will teach
me to become more dependent on Him in every way. I pray that God will
transform my life in to one of service to Him, and to serve others,
according to His will. I pray that God will instill in my heart the
wisdom to see His missions and purpose for my life on this earth. My
desire is to become more Christ-like through love toward others, to be a
good example, and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to those whom God
puts in my path.
