Dear Overbrook Family,

"40 Days of Purpose" ministry holds the potential to change our lives and the life of Overbrook Baptist Church. During these days of inspiration, we will discover the answer to life’s most important question: "What on earth am I here for?"

The events of the campaign will give us opportunities to examine our lives and renew our commitment to God. Through personal devotional readings, Sunday worship, scripture memory and study groups we will grow closer to God and to one another.

I am pleased to share with you that Jim and Tracy Fowler have agreed to serve as the campaign leaders. They are guiding the planning of this major event. We have much work to do in the areas of prayer, communications, worship, celebrations, ministry fairs, and small groups. When you are contacted to assist, say "Yes!" This will surely be a team effort.

To receive the full benefits of these 40 life-changing days, you will want to participate in each spiritual emphasis:

• Attend the Kick-off Rally on Sunday, October 5 at 6:00 PM.

• Participate in all 7 Sunday morning services in the series 40 Days of Purpose.

• Read the 40 daily readings in The Purpose Driven Life book by Rick Warren. These readings will guide you in your personal journey to discover God’s purposes for your life. (These books will be available to the church family as a part of the campaign. There is no need to secure one beforehand.)

• Memorize a simple Bible verse each week that will focus you on God’s purposes

• Commit to a study group to deepen your understanding of God’s purposes for your life.

Begin now to pray that God will continue to do the work of changing our lives and making us into the persons He wants us to be. Don’t miss being part of God’s work in our lives and in our church.
